I am becoming the editor of JPNN as a hospital-based nurse scientist, which means that I am not situated in a university-based setting where additional supports for new editors are more readily available (i.e. other nurse editors and nurse scholars). While my current role is a strength to this very clinically focused journal, it also comes with some challenges.

Kathleen Rice Simpson, Editor-in-Chief of MCN: The American Journal of Maternal-Child Nursing is also a hospital based scientist and editor and has enthusiastically agreed to serve as Kate’s mentor for INANE 2017. All of us on the Awards Committee think this will be a perfect fit!
